So long, 2016. Although we lost some incredible musicians, celebrities, and public figures last year, it wasn’t all doom and gloom. Stranger Things hit Netflix, JK Rowling’s movie “Fantastic Beasts” landed in theaters, and donations from the Ice Bucket Challenge which swept the internet led to the discovery of a new ALS gene.
Some pretty great things happened for HWHT as well!

If you’re visiting my blog for the first time, this list is a great place to start discovering the best content on my blog. (You’ll find more suggestions on my About Me page, too.)
Knowing how to clean fake plants helps reduce the amount of dust and allergens in your home’s air while preserving the beauty of these decorative touches.
Unless you’re a person who never forgets to put the cap back on the pen, or you actually like the look of a pocket protector, you need to know how to get ink stains out of clothes. For some reason, I never discover ink stains until after clothes have been through the wash. That’s okay, though: this helps get old and new stains out.
Don’t stress when it comes to cleaning your home. Save time and money by working smart, not hard. If you can’t quite get your stainless steel to shine or your windows to be streak free, you’ve come to the right place! These 10 professional home cleaning hacks are easy to do and will save you from the emotional stress that associated with cleaning a home.
Cornish hens are a bit of an obsession in my home. My teenage son — a/k/a the nonstop eating machine — loves that he gets to have an entire one to himself. I love that this Crockpot Cornish Hens recipe needs only a few ingredients and just minutes of my attention. Get them started in the morning and come home to a delicious dinner — what’s not to like about that?
Another recipe created to fuel my teenage son, this Homemade Breakfast Bowls recipe makes enough for 12 bowls — and they freeze beautifully. In the morning it’s just minutes to pour, heat and eat a hearty, homemade hot breakfast.
In 2016, I revised and re-released a number of printable cleaning checklists. This Daily Cleaning Routine was clearly one of your favorites. It’s one of my favorites, too! Maybe that’s because, after a few days of following it, your home looks continually clean in mere minutes per day — even if you haven’t done a thorough cleaning in weeks.
There’s so much to love about this Low-Carb Chicken and Spinach Roulade recipe: it’s easy, it takes only a few ingredients, it freezes beautifully, and it’s healthy. I double the recipe and freeze the extras for quick and simple microwave meals when I don’t feel like cooking. (It happens.)
Carb-lovers just need to add a side of potatoes or rice then everyone’s happy.
It costs a small fortune to have your air ducts professionally cleaned, especially if your ducts leak so the hot water propulsion the pros send through them winds up leaking all over your ceilings and walls. This easy method of cleaning your own air ducts will dramatically reduce dust, pet hair, and allergens in your air ducts and home — without posing a risk to your ceilings.
Ever notice that you can repeatedly explain to your kids how to do something but they don’t hear a word you say, then someone else says the same thing and — boom! — they get it? That’s the principle behind the cleaning checklist for kids’ rooms. They CAN clean their bedroom on their own using this!
(I do recommend helping them the first time or two. After that, you can hand them the checklist and they’ll know what to do and how to do it.)
Long an Ayurvedic tradition, this combination of warm milk and spices — including turmeric — is anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. Drinking a cup of Golden Turmeric Milk before bedtime helps you fall asleep faster, too!
