I love my cats but I’ll be the first to admit they both have some stinky breath. Though I take them to the vet regularly for dental checkups and cleanings it seems like just a week or two later that smell is back. Unfortunately, neither are big fans of the toothbrush, something I have the scars to prove.
Then I was asked by the J.M. Smucker company to try Meow Mix Brushing Bites from Walmart and share my experience with you. I’d never heard of Brushing Bites before but was curious about them because I’m always on the lookout for ways to protect my cats’ dental health.
Turns out, Meow Mix Brushing Bites are specifically designed to help control plaque and tartar so cats’ teeth stay cleaner between visits to the vet. As most cat owners know, a cat’s dental problems can lead to greater health problems down the road.
Meow Mix Brushing Bites are crunchy treats made from real meat or fish that come in both chicken and tuna flavor. You can find Meow Mix Brushing Bites at Walmart in the pet care aisle just like I did.
But the important question is: what do cats think?
Mister Bean, my tuxedo kitty, is a real snacker. He’ll go shoulder-to-shoulder with my puppy to jump on any food I drop while cooking in the kitchen. For that very reason, I’m always concerned whether he’s getting proper nutrition. Since Meow Mix Brushing Bites are fortified with vitamin D and calcium they’re good for helping cats build strong teeth and bones.
Pippin is my picky cat. He’s not the least bit interested in food I drop while cooking, and he often turns his nose up at different cat treats that I bring home. Somehow, as you can see, he’s still managed to grow into a hefty boy. That’s pretty surprising, considering that he’s lost quite a few of his teeth to dental disease despite my and my vet’s best efforts. But does he let that stand in his way of eating these crunchy dental treats bursting with tasty flavors? Oh, no, he does not.
Let’s look closer at that reaction, shall we?
I’d say that’s a win, wouldn’t you?
